In this article

IMPORTANT - the chromium tooltip bug only affects BC23 and newer due to platform changes in the help subsystem. BC17 is unaffected.

Statement from Microsoft

We are receiving reports of a new Chromium update affecting the Web client in Microsoft Edge and Google Chrome browsers. The Business Central team is investigating the issue with the highest priority in collaboration with Edge team and some fixes have already been identified. This issue may affect users of the Web client on-premises and online.

Symptom: When clicking the icons in the app bar to display the Help pane or the Copilot pane, nothing happens. These are unreachable.

Workaround: Use the Mozilla Firefox bwser. We are working to identify alternative workarounds.

Thank you for your patience.

Workarounds

  1. Use Firefox as your browser.

  2. Run Edge/Chrome with the disable-features flag.

    1. a new edge/chrome shortcut needs to be created setting the relevant flag. This is the command for Chrome: Chrome.exe --disable-features=ContainerTypeNoLayoutContainment

      1. The same command works for edge but use "msedge.exe" instead.

Warning: If customers are upgraded to BC24 and onward, that shortcut has to be removed.
