Clear Problems with Accessing SharePoint Sites

Clear Problems with Accessing SharePoint Sites

Introduction

Every client gets a dedicated SharePoint site that will be shared with you. There you’ll find training recordings, working files, and links to other useful information.

Sometimes when our clients have their own Microsoft Office account associated with the same email address they will encounter issues accessing the SharePoint site we have shared with them. Your browser usually saves login credentials and may be trying to access your 365 Cannabis SharePoint site with your organization credentials.

This article will show you some steps that usually clear up this issue. If you continue to have problems, please contact your project manager or account manager.

NOTE: The best practice is to bookmark the original link you receive when your client folder is shared with you. Then use that bookmark to access the site.

There are a few options that normally clear this up. Please try one or more of the options below, and let us know if you still have problems after that.

Option 1: Try an incognito window.

  1. Try to access the site from an incognito window. Here’s a screenshot of how you can do that from Google Chrome. After you open the window, copy and paste the link for your shared folder.

Option 2:  Use a browser you’ve never associated with your Microsoft account.

For example, if you normally use Google Chrome at work try Firefox or Microsoft Edge.

Option 3: Clear your cache and cookies.

If you’ve logged in to most of the common browsers with your work account you may need to completely sign out of your Microsoft account and clear your cache and cookies on that browser.

First, make sure you’re logged out of your Microsoft account.

Go tohttp://www.office.com.

Select the account icon in the top right-hand corner of your screen, and then select Sign out.

Next, you’ll need to clear your cache and cookies. Here are some instructions on how to do that in Google Chrome: Clear cache & cookies - Computer - Google Account Help

After you complete those steps you can follow the original link you received.
