BC Crop Treatment Template Setup
Introduction
Templates act as recipes for repeated use. A Crop Treatment Template can be set up for treatments that are used frequently. These templates will speed up the creation of a Crop Treatment. It is possible to create a Crop Treatment without using templates.
Prerequsities
Required Item Setup:
On the Item Card, the field Item Type must be set as:
Chemical Pesticide
Biological Pesticide
Fertilizer (only if template type is Fertilization)
If an item doesn't appear in your template selection, it's likely missing this classification.
Setup
Search for Crop Treatment Templates and select the option from the list.
Select +New to create a new template.
On the General FastTab:
Select the Crop Treatment Type. ⚠️ This must be selected first when creating the template. It determines which item types are allowed in consumptions.
Crop Protection: Used for IPM-type events involving chemical or biological pesticides.
Fertilization: Used for fertigation or nutrient applications, restricted to fertilizer-type items.
Number
Unique identifier for the template.
Can be abbreviated but should clearly reference the treatment (e.g.,
BGWP-Spray-Cfor Botanic Gard WP Spray - Corrective).
Enter a Description.
This should clearly communicate the purpose or specifics of the treatment.
Location Code
Usually set to your site or facility code (e.g.,
BOLD).Determines where the treatment template can be applied.
Select if the costs will be split by Area or Quantity in the Split Job Costs Based On field.
Best Practice: Use Quantity—most commonly used and aligns well with financial tracking and cultivation logic.Area – the Costs will be applied based on the amount of space each treated plant consumes. The amount of space a plant consumes is based on the “Qty. per Area” on the production scheme.
Quantity – Cost will be allocated on a per-plant basis.
Assigned to User (Optional)
Pre-assigns treatments from this template to a specific production manager.
Must come from the Production Managers list with “Allow Assignment to Crop Protection” (or fertilization equivalent) enabled.
The information on the Crop Protection FastTab is used for reporting purposes and is not required.
If you want to report on the plague/diseases that are being treated, you will need to select the problem from the drop-down list. Plague and diseases are self-defined fields.
The Control Method is used to specify whether the treatment is preventative or curative.
Control Type Code is a self-defined field for classifying the type of treatment.
Water Used is to enter the amount of water used to create the treatment.
Usage per area allows the recording of how much treatment is used for a specific area. (i.e., amount per room, section, etc.) This field is for reporting purposes and does not affect the distribution of costs.
Offset Water Used is the amount of water that is added to the plant to offset the treatment (i.e., watering in fertilizer).
The Crop Treatment Consumptions Fast Tab allows you to create your recipe for the crop treatment. These are the actual items (products) applied during treatment. Fields in Consumption:
Item No.: The treatment product.
Quantity Per Mix: Amount of item used per mix.
UOM: Unit of measure.
Mix Quantity: Total mix amount (volume basis).
Application Quantity per Plant/Room: How much of the mix is applied.
Add the item(s) needed to generate the treatment.
Enter the quantity of the item used to create the treatment. (This can be an estimate as the actual item consumption will be entered on the actual Crop Treatment.)
