Introduction

Labor standards refer to how long the system thinks it takes you to do an activity. The values are used for work orders and labor planning. These are used to default the planned number of hours in the system when work orders are created or assigned for specific activities. They will also be used for any projected costs and time when planning.

To Update Existing Labor Standard Preferences

 

  1. Go to Labor Standard Preferences, and select the appropriate option.

  2. Select the line of Labor Standard Preference you’d like to modify.

  3. You can modify the Labor Standard Preferences using method a or b below:

    1. In the Labor Standard Code field you can select the drop down to assign a different existing Labor Standard Code. Once selected this will update the Norm Quantity/Hour field.

    2. In the Norm Quantity/Hour field, select the value. This will bring you to the Labor Standard page. From the header menu select Edit List. Now you can manually update the Norm Quantity/Hour.

  4. If you already have an Activity Scheme created, select Update Jobs.

    • This will allow you to update Jobs with a Job Status of Forecast or Release. Jobs with a status of In-Production don’t change.

To create a new Labor Standard Preference, follow the instructions below.

Entering New Labor Standard Preferences

First, you need to create a Labor Standard and then link it to a Labor Standard Preference.

  1. Go to Labor Standard Preference, and select the appropriate option.

  2. Select +New from the ribbon.

  3. Select an Activity Code.

  4. Select the Labor Standard Code field drop-down and select +New.

  5. This will bring you to your Labor Standards page. In the Code field give your new labor standard a code
    NOTE: The code is typically the activity name or the Qty per hour i.e. PRUNING or 75 PPH

  6. Select a Unit of Measure - Production Units of Measure.

  7. Enter the number of how many plants per hour in the Norm Quantity/Hour field.

    1. The total of time should be the time it takes for all the people to complete the task because we don't have a notion of quantity per person.
      Example: if you can prune 50 plants per hour per person and you have two employees it should be 100.

  8. Select OK.

  9. If you already have an Activity Scheme created, select Update Jobs.

    • This will allow you to update Jobs with a Job Status of Forecast or Release. Jobs with a status of In-Production don’t change.
