BC Production Schemes

BC Production Schemes

In this article

Introduction

Production Schemes display the plants' different phases of growth for the course of their lifecycle. They include:

  • How many weeks it will take to get through each phase.

  • How much space the plant will take.

  • How much time is needed for each phase.

  • What units of measure output items should be measured during a given phase.

Setup of plant lifecycle (per different production grow cycles) and high-level steps to follow cultivation per batch (job). Production Schemes describe the different Growth or Production Phases, how long each phase takes, and where it’s taking place.

The Production Scheme can be created per lifecycle and varying phase durations (3 weeks Prop, 3 weeks Veg, 8 week Flower) or at a lower level if needed.

To create a new production scheme

  1. Search for Production Scheme List, and select the appropriate option from the menu.

  2. You’ll see a list of your existing production schemes. To create a new one, select +New.

  3. Select an existing Production Scheme before clicking Edit in the ribbon to modify an existing scheme

  4. In the General FastTab, populate the following fields:

    1. Code: Simple code to indicate the Production Scheme growth cycle.

    2. Description: Description of the Production Scheme growth cycle.

    3. Planning direction: Forward

    4. Job Tracking code: Do not populate this field if you are not individually plant tracking.

      1. Select BULK for the production plant production scheme.

      2. Select MS for the mother stock production scheme.

Characteristics FastTab

The Characteristics FastTab is not mandatory.

  1. Location Code: can be specified if multiple locations and there are different processes by location.

Lines FastTab

Enter the production scheme details in the Lines FastTab. This will set the parameters for how long it is going to take for each stage, where plants go, how much space is it going to take, etc. Now we’ll be able to use this to track the plants.

Populate the following fields (some fields will be noted as optional):

  • Production Phase: Choose the phase that you need to manage your batch. Using multiple lines per phase enables us to change the activity scheme later.

  • Duration: Number of days or weeks for that phase.

The Duration fields determine the End Date Production on the Job card. Verify the correct number of days are entered for each line or your job may end up with a different End Date than expected.

  • Unit of Measure: Choose a day or week.

  • Output Unit Conversion code: Determines the unit of measure for the output item.

  • Qty per Area: The number of plants per area unit of measure within the location card.

  • Unit of Measure per Area: Production unit of measure.

  • Location: Optional, if chosen the production scheme is only valid for that location.

  • Section code: Optional, choose where it’s taking place (loc. and section will follow into a Work order and that will move the plant for us).

When Lines are populated, select Release in the ribbon. This should update the Status field in the General fast tab to Released.

If you’d like to make edits to a Production Scheme, select Reopen in the ribbon. This should update the Status field in the General FastTab to Open. Once edits are done, select Release again.

Status must be Released to use the scheme on a new Job.

Examples:

The above is an example of a Production Plant Grow Cycle for Individually Tracked Plants spending 2 weeks in Propagation, 3 weeks in Vegetation, and 8 weeks in Flowering, with a final phase of Harvest.

The above is an example of a Mother Plant Grow Cycle for Individually tracked Moms to begin at a vegetative stage of Mature for 3 weeks prior to being cut. Then are planned on being Cut every 3 weeks until Destroyed. This is typical when Mother Plants are generated by selecting Vegetative Plant to designate as Mothers.
